Q: Why choose an athermalized lens over a manual focus lens?
A: Athermalized lenses use mechanical-thermal compensation to maintain a stable focal plane. This is critical for unmanned or remote stations where manual refocusing is impossible during temperature swings from day to night.
Q: Does the lens support DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for outdoor use?
A: Yes. Our lenses can be supplied with AR (Anti-Reflective) coating for high transmission or DLC coating on the front element to withstand harsh environmental conditions like sand, wind, and salt spray.
Q: Is this lens compatible with 384x288 12μm sensors as well?
A: Absolutely. While optimized for 640x512 12μm to ensure edge-to-edge clarity, it is fully backward compatible with 384x288 12μm or 17μm sensors.
Q: Can you provide the custom adapter or mount for our module?
A: We provide standard M34 mounts. Custom mechanical interface design is available for bulk OEM orders to ensure a perfect fit with your thermal core.
About the Germanium-Free Advantage:
The ZV-LAF series utilizes advanced chalcogenide glass technology to achieve optical performance comparable to traditional Germanium lenses but without the heavy export restrictions (Non-ITAR/EAR friendly).
This ensures a stable supply chain and consistent pricing for mass-production OEM projects.
